About This Course

The "COMPUTER ESSENTIALS" course is addressed to Secondary School students - Grade 6.

This course sets out essential concepts and skills relating to the use of devices, file creation and management, networks and data security.

Available resources

This section gathers materials and resources that teachers may use to organize and manage lessons in classroom. Materials and resources have been structured to cover 35 lessons (about 45 minutes each).

Teacher can access different types of resources to manage the lesson in the classroom.

• Lesson Plan: it is a detailed description of the course of instruction or "learning trajectory" for each lesson. It is the teacher's guide for running a particular lesson, and it includes the goal (what the students are supposed to learn), how the goal will be reached (the method, procedure) and a way of measuring how well the goal was reached (test, worksheet, homework etc.). The Lesson Plan is just a guide and can be varied and adapted depending on the preference of the teacher, subject being covered, and the needs of the students.
• PowerPoint presentation: for almost each lesson PowerPoint presentation are available as visual aids during running the lesson. PowerPoint can enhance teacher presentations and the overall comprehension of students. It is a program that allows teachers to present their lessons in a more dynamic way than simply lecturing and writing on the blackboard. PowerPoint files are equipped with different types of media - images, icons, animations.
• Lab Activity: practical exercises that can be performed individually or in small groups in the classroom. They aimed at providing students with the opportunity to apply their content understandings and skills performing specific tasks.
